Hair transplantation built around proportion, donor strategy and natural direction.

Hair transplantation redistributes suitable follicles from a donor area to areas affected by hair loss. A responsible plan considers diagnosis, donor capacity, hair characteristics, age, future loss and the visual priorities of the patient.

What the planning process considers

  • Pattern and likely progression of hair loss
  • Donor density, calibre and availability
  • Hairline shape, facial proportions and age appropriateness
  • Choice of extraction and implantation approach
  • Long-term preservation strategy for existing hair
02

FUE and DHI: what do the names mean?

  • FUE generally refers to follicular unit extraction, the way follicular units are harvested one by one.
  • DHI is commonly used to describe implantation with implanter pens in selected workflows.
  • These terms are not a quality score by themselves. Technique selection should follow anatomy, graft numbers and clinician preference.
03

Typical visit

  • Remote preliminary review where appropriate
  • In-person scalp and donor assessment
  • Design and treatment planning
  • Procedure day with local anaesthesia as clinically appropriate
  • Early aftercare instructions and washing guidance
  • Longer-term follow-up as transplanted follicles cycle through shedding and regrowth

FAQ

Before you decide, ask better questions.

Good treatment planning starts with diagnosis, candidacy and realistic expectations.

There is no reliable universal number. It depends on the size of the area, desired density, donor capacity and long-term strategy.

Hair growth occurs gradually over months. Temporary shedding can occur early. The treating clinician should explain the expected timeline for your case.

No. Some patterns of hair loss, medical conditions, unstable loss or limited donor capacity may make transplantation unsuitable or require further evaluation.
